CaML brings together researchers, engineers, and advocates united by a shared mission: ensuring AI systems reflect compassion for all sentient beings.
Co-founder
Miles co-founded CaML to ensure future AI systems reflect compassion for all sentient beings. At CaML he co-authored the paper Document-tuning for Robust Alignment to Animals, co-developed the AHB and MORU benchmarks, and designed CompassionBench — the first leaderboard ranking frontier models on compassionate reasoning. He is currently working on implementing Hyperstition ideas in practice. Miles also co-founded Modeling Cooperation and CAIRE. Masters in Economics from University of Melbourne; previously a research economist at Australia's Productivity Commission.

Jasmine co-founded CaML and leads its technical work. She co-authored Document-tuning for Robust Alignment to Animals, co-developed the AHB and MORU benchmarks, and helped design CompassionBench. She has trained dozens of models and generated dozens of datasets for compassionate AI alignment, and is currently working on implementing Hyperstition ideas in practice. Jasmine brings 6+ years in cybersecurity — including designing security systems at Anthropic — and served as primary reviewer for 'Securing External Deeper-than-black-box GPAI Evaluations' (Tlaie & Farrell, 2025).
